How to play
- How do you draw a random card?: The page opens on a shuffled 52-card deck. Tap the main button, the deck itself, or the empty card slot — any of the three pulls one card. It slides out, flips face up, the counter drops from 52 to 51, and the card joins the strip along the bottom.
- How do you call the next card higher or lower?: Once the first card is face up, a Higher and a Lower button appear under the main button. Either one draws the next card and scores the call: right calls add to your streak, a wrong call wipes it, and a matching rank is a tie. Tap Keep to bank the streak.
- How do you add jokers or drop a suit?: Open deck settings from the gear in the top right. You can add two jokers, switch individual suits off (at least one has to stay in), and swap between drawing without replacement and putting every card back. Changing any of those three deals a fresh deck.
- What happens when the deck runs out?: Drawing the 52nd card brings up a summary card with your best kept streak, the red and black counts, the count per suit, and the highest card of the deck. Tap Reshuffle the deck on that card to start a fresh 52 — no page reload needed.
Rules & variants
What are the basic rules? The default deck is 52 cards with no jokers, drawn without replacement: a card that comes out does not go back, so the counter only ever goes down. One tap draws exactly one card. There is no batch draw, no undo and no redraw — the card you pulled is the card you got.
How is the draw order decided? A fresh deck is shuffled once with the Fisher-Yates algorithm, and every later draw simply takes the next card off the top. Every card therefore has the same chance of any position, and the full order of the deck is fixed before you draw the first card.
What is the difference between no replacement and putting it back? Without replacement the deck behaves like a real deal: 52 cards and then it is empty, with the count running down to zero. Putting it back behaves like a die roll: every draw comes from a full deck, repeats are normal, the count shows infinity and no summary card ever appears.
How is the highest card decided? Whichever drawn card has the highest rank carries the crown badge. Only rank counts, never suit, and on a tie the card drawn first keeps the crown. Jokers rank above every pip card, with the red joker above the black one. Switching between ace high and ace low re-reads the whole deck immediately.
How does the streak work? A right call adds one, a wrong call resets to zero, and a matching rank leaves it alone. Only the Keep button writes a streak into your best, and best takes the larger of the two — keeping a 1 after a 2 leaves the best at 2. A streak still running when the deck empties does not count, and the summary card says so on its own line.
How do you use a card draw to cut for deal? The usual table rule is that everyone draws once and the highest card deals. This page turns that into one shared deck: each player taps once, the strip keeps every card in the order it came out, and the crown badge points at whoever is currently ahead, so nobody has to remember.
What do first-time users get wrong? The two most common slips are waiting for a summary card while the deck is set to put every card back, and stacking right calls without ever tapping Keep — one wrong call then erases the whole run. It also helps to check the suit and joker settings before comparing against an earlier deck, since changing them deals a new one.
